SPOKANE—The Vandal men's tennis team traveled up I-95 to take on Gonzaga on Tuesday. Idaho was competitive throughout the night but came away empty-handed for the second straight match.
Gonzaga (5-0) opened the evening with a win in doubles. The Zags opened with a 6-4 win on the No. 2 court, but Idaho's Felipe Fonseca and Esteban Santibanez got Idaho back to even with a 7-5 win at No. 3. It took a tiebreak to settle the doubles point at the No. 1 position. Sam Feit and Ruadhan O'Sullivan got the win over Mark Kovacs and Carlos Longhi Neto, 7-6(5).
