Moscow, Idaho - The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) has announced the addition of the Vandals alongside six other institutions in time for the 2025-26 season. Idaho has competed in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) since 2006. The Vandals' prior experience with the league dates back to 1997, when UI Track and Field was a member during the 1997 season in which they took home the conference title.
When asked about the excitement of joining a new conference, head coach Dr. Mark Sowa said:
"In the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics, the leadership of the MPSF have proven to be devoted and supportive of the growth and stability of mid-major swimming & diving.
