Idaho wasted no time showing off on its home field, with a number of athletes placing in the top-3 or moving on to the next round of competition.
Sophomore Zachary Short headlined the day with a victory in the men’s shot put. Short claimed the title with a toss of 18.18 meters after starting the meet ranked second in the Big Sky. It is his second title in 2018 after he took first in the event at the Big Sky Indoor Championships. He currently ranks 26th in the west and 50th in the country.
Sophomore Austin Beyer also had a medal-winning performance in the throws.
