GREELEY, Colo. – Drew Thompson gave it his all at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships, earning a fourth-place finish in an incredibly competitive decathlon.
He set a personal-best with 6,530 points, a 234 point improvement. He finished just 25 points behind the winner, Mason Storm of Montana State. Thompson set or tied seven outdoor PR’s in 11 total events.
Thompson got going right away, winning the 110-meter hurdles at 14.90 seconds and scoring 862 points. Thompson was the only competitor to break 15 seconds.
He then shattered his discus personal-best, going 33.
