The Vandals defeated Idaho State on the road 2-1 Sunday afternoon in one of the final games of the regular season.
Idaho head coach Derek Pittman said in a news release that the team did not play a strong first half.
“We didn’t play well in the first half and Idaho State capitalized,” Pittman said. “They had a lot more energy and enthusiasm than we did, just battling for first and second balls and just competing. And our staff really challenged our team at halftime, made a few tactical changes that we needed to address, but more than anything we needed to light a fire under our group and get them to compete like they did on Friday night.
