MOSCOW, Idaho – Despite trailing by as many as 21 points in the first half, Idaho (12-9, 4-4 BSC) had a chance to steal the win in the closing minutes but came up just short, falling to Sacramento State (9-9, 2-5 BSC), 65-63.
“We didn’t execute the defensive game plan in the first half,” said head coach Don Verlin. “We didn’t do it hard enough, we didn’t do it well enough. We allowed them way, way too many open shots.”
The Vandals came out with fire in the second half, scoring the first seven points of the period.
