ARLINGTON, Texas – University of Idaho swimmer Ginger Kiefer took home her first career conference weekly honor after posting three first-place finishes over the weekend, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Kiefer, a sophomore from Bend, Oregon, helped lead Idaho to a conference-opening victory over Northern Colorado, 167.5-132.5, behind a trio of top finishes.
She started the day with a first-place result in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 10:26.73. Her mark sits fourth fastest in the WAC this season.
Kiefer followed it up with a top finish in the 200-back, clocking in the second fastest time in the WAC with a 2:01.
