THE INSIDE TRACK Barrera, from Mt. Spokane High School, was the Washington State runner-up last spring in the 400m after setting a personal best of 48.58 seconds during the season. Barrera also excelled in the horizontal jumps at the Washington State meet as a junior, placing third in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. He has personal bests of 22' 1.25" in the long jump and 45' 5.
