LEWISTON, Idaho -- Idaho men's tennis (9-7; 2-1 BSC) was unsuccessful against No. 70 Northern Arizona (16-2; 3-0 BSC) in a 5-2 loss on Sunday afternoon at the Lewis-Clark State Tennis Center.
The Vandals day looked promising after earning two out of three wins over the Jacks to earn the doubles point. The pair of Francisco Bascon and Matteo Masala posted a 6-3 result at No. 1 before Francisco Gay and Taiyo Kurata clinched with a 6-3 decision on court two to put Idaho up 1-0.
Entering into singles play, the Vandals used a straight-set victory by Bascon to push their lead to 2-0.
