LONG BEACH, Calif.- Sophie Hausmann turned in a second-round 69 to climb 19 spots into second place on the leaderboard Monday at The Gold Rush in Long Beach, Calif. Hausmann sits at even-par through two rounds, leading the way for Idaho women's golf which sits in seventh in its first tournament of the spring. The Vandals are 10 shots off the lead and two shots back of a three-way tie for fourth. Hausmann is three strokes behind the individual leader, Ellen Secor of Colorado State.
"Our biggest challenge today was mentally committing to aggressive ball striking," said head coach Lisa Johnson.
