BOZEMAN, Mont. – Idaho is out to an excellent start at the 2016 Big Sky Indoor Championships, as individual events began on Friday. The Vandals got their first win of the meet from Kinsey Gomez, and earned two more All-Big Sky honors on the day. Four other Vandals advanced to the finals in their respective events, to take place on Saturday.
Gomez, a senior from Coeur d’Alene, took first in the 5000-meters at 17:02.64, earning All-Big Sky honors. Gomez will also compete in the mile and the 3000-meters on Saturday.
Drew Thompson earned second in the heptathlon, setting a personal-best with 5031 points and garnering All-Big Sky accolades.
