AUSTIN, Texas—University of Idaho junior Mikayla Ferenz was named to the 2018 CoSIDA Women's Basketball Academic All-America First Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Monday.
Ferenz is the first Vandal woman to earn First Team recognition and second Idaho student-athlete to do so this season. Wide receiver Jacob Sannon earned First Team distinction for football in December.
Ferenz, an App. Actuary Science & Finance major holds a 4.0 GPA and ranks sixth in the NCAA with 22.6 points per game. She currently has the second-best scoring season in Idaho history, totaling 724 points this season.
