Golf took on an entirely new dimension for Michelle Kim and Sophie Hausmann last fall. If adjusting to a new country and college golf weren’t enough, both University of Idaho freshmen learned they were chosen to represent their countries on their national golf teams.
For Kim – a Canadian, and Hausmann – a German, the selections were pleasant surprises.
“When the head coach called me, it was a big surprise,” said Kim, whose impact on the Idaho team was immediate with her team-best scoring average (72.3) and three Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors. “I was on the development team last year.
