MOSCOW, Idaho – Senior Alex Ayers was named Second-Team Academic All-American as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Ayers, a sprinter and hurdler from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is coming off a career year on the track. He set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.66 seconds, which is the fifth best time in school history. He placed third at the Big Sky Outdoor championships, earning All-Conference honors. He also anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to a second-place finish at the conference championship. He qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in the 400 hurdles where he placed 39th.
