George Honeyman has admitted that the Hull City fans have been at the forefront of the players’ minds over the last few days.
The Tigers celebrated promotion inside an empty LNER Stadium after winning 2-1 at Lincoln City at the weekend as a whole season without fans heads towards its conclusion and, although delighted to have sealed a return to the Sky Bet Championship, Honeyman says there was a feeling of regret that the achievement couldn’t be celebrated with the club’s supporters.
“When we got back to the training ground on Saturday night there were some fans outside wanting to celebrate with us,” said Honeyman.
