Captain Richie Smallwood has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Head Coach Grant McCann has confirmed.
The 30-year-old was withdrawn in the first half of Saturday’s match at Burton with a knee injury.
“It’s not good,” McCann said. “We’re going to be missing Richie for the rest of the season, which is unfortunate.
“It’s a blow for us. It’s his medial ligament in his knee. He’s going to see a specialist on Thursday.”
McCann was speaking after Hull City’s goalless draw with leaders Lincoln City at a wintry KCOM Stadium – the Tigers’ first scoreless stalemate in the league since November 2018.
