Ryan Mason has been allowed to return home from hospital eight days after suffering a fractured skull as the Hull City midfielder begins his rehabilitation.
Mason, 25, has been at St Mary’s Hospital in London since his horror clash of heads with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill last Sunday but is now ready to leave.
Hull club doctor Mark Waller hailed the ‘overwhelming show of support’ from the football family while offering personal thanks to two consultants who were key to Mason’s recovery.
Julian Redhead and Kevin Tsang were named and praised for their ‘calmness and professional manner’ in dealing with the injury.
