Ryan Mason discharged from hospital a week after Hull midfielder suffered fractured skull in clash with Chelsea

Ryan Mason has been allowed to return home from hospital eight days after suffering a fractured skull as the Hull City midfielder begins his rehabilitation.

Mason, 25, has been at St Mary’s Hospital in London since his horror clash of heads with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill last Sunday but is now ready to leave.

Hull club doctor Mark Waller hailed the ‘overwhelming show of support’ from the football family while offering personal thanks to two consultants who were key to Mason’s recovery.
