Grant McCann says the aim this season is to “bounce back” as Hull City prepare to face Gillingham in their opening League One match.
The 40-year-old is plotting a swift return to the Championship but is anticipating a difficult first fixture against a Gills side that finished tenth on points per game last term.
McCann said: “The aim is to try and bounce back. The aim is to try and get promoted. The aim is to try and get back in the Championship.
“I feel as if we’re recruiting very well in terms of players who know this level and know what it takes to win.
