Grant McCann was pleased to begin the new League One season on a winning note with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Gillingham.
Goals from Keane Lewis-Potter and Josh Magennis earned Hull City all three points and the boss felt the result should have been more convincing.
“I thought it was a good result, a good performance,” said McCann.
“It possibly should have been more, if we were a bit more clinical at the top end of the pitch.
“But I can’t grumble – we’ve come to one of the toughest places in League One in Gillingham, especially the way they play, the way Steve [Evans] gets them playing.
