Grant McCann felt patience paid off as Hull City saw off 10-man Burton Albion to move up to second in League One.
Second-half goals from Mallik Wilks and Hakeeb Adelakun secured a 2-0 victory over the Brewers, who had Sam Hughes sent off after just 18 minutes.
The Tigers dominated throughout but it wasn’t until just past the hour mark that the breakthrough finally came.
And McCann revealed his half-time message to his players was to not get frustrated.
“I thought the difference in the second half was we moved the ball quicker as a team,” said McCann.
