Grant McCann hailed a “controlled” team display as Hull City romped to a 4-0 victory at promotion-rivals Portsmouth.
Two own goals from Jack Whatmough, a George Honeyman tap-in and a Josh Magennis strike earned the table-topping Tigers a stunning win at Fratton Park.
And McCann could not have been happier after his side produced arguably their best of the season, against a Pompey side that had started the day in third.
“We had to be good coming here today,” said McCann.
“Portsmouth are a very strong team at this level, an excellent team.
