Defender Jake Leake has said the team gave themselves a difficult task to complete, after losing 4-2 against Sheffield United U23’s.
Second half goals from Ahmed Salam and Sean McLoughlin wasn’t enough for the Tigers to overturn a 4-0 deficit as they suffered defeat in the U23 Professional Development League.
“The first half wasn’t good enough from us and it didn’t hit the standards we want to hit,” said Leake.
“We spoke about it at half-time that we were miles off, both defensively and attacking and we needed to do so much more and I think in the second half we started to do that, but we gave ourselves too much of a mountain to climb.
