Alfie Jones was quick to praise the fight and character of the Tigers’ squad following Tuesday night’s fantastic fightback against Fleetwood Town in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Jones played the full 90 minutes as Hull City came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 courtesy of a last minute Lewie Coyle thunderbolt, and the midfielder was full of praise for the resilience and determination shown from the team to respond in the second half.
“It was an unbelievable comeback,” said Jones. “There’s no better feeling than a last minute winner and that’s typical cup football really.
