Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason is making "excellent progress" after suffering a fractured skull but will continue to be closely monitored in hospital, the club have said.
Mason, 25, had surgery in London on Sunday evening after sustaining the injury in a clash of heads with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill in the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge earlier the same day.
A Hull statement said: "The club can confirm that Ryan Mason continues to make excellent progress.
"He will continue to be closely monitored by staff at St Mary's Hospital over the next few days, whilst also remaining in contact with our medical team to assess his progress.
