Hull City's 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday was a result few imagined possible after a truly disastrous summer at the KCOM Stadium. No permanent manager or new signings in a squad decimated by injuries yet goals from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass inflicted defeat upon the Premier League champions.
Leicester City were made to look decidedly ordinary by a Hull City performance that belied the club's many off-field issues.
Positives
Mike Phelan might only be a caretaker boss and unsure if his reign will extend to next weekend's trip to Swansea City but he showed he has galvanised a squad of players that could have been forgiven for surrendering.
