Simon Grayson has emerged as a contender for the Hull City vacancy after impressing on a budget with Preston North End.
Hull are looking for a new manager after Marco Silva departed for Watford and Championship experience features prominently on a list of priorities.
Grayson led Preston to a top-half finish in 2016-17 despite spending among the lowest amount of money in the division.



He also continued his reputation for bringing through younger players, with 22-year-old Callum Robinson and 24-year-old Jordan Hugill the club’s top scorers.
