Hull City claimed three points against Rochdale with a 2-0 victory at the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Mallik Wilks set the Tigers on their way with his 19th goal of the season midway through the first half before the points were sewn up courtesy of an own goal from Rochdale's Gabriel Osho after the break.
Grant McCann made just one change to his starting eleven following the weekend win at AFC Wimbledon as Gavin Whyte replaced the injured Josh Magennis. James Scott came into the squad on the bench.
It was a quiet opening to the game as the home side pressed high up the field against a Rochdale side, which featured a former Hull City promotion winner in Paul McShane, keen to play out from the back.
