An in-depth look at the career of new signing Hakeeb Adelakun…
Born in Hackney, the 24-year-old was on Crystal Palace and West Ham’s books as a youngster before joining Scunthorpe United in 2012.
He became the Iron’s youngest-ever player when making his professional debut in a 1-0 League One defeat at Tranmere in December of that year, aged 16 years and 201 days.
The wideman made one more appearance that season, in a 3-1 victory over Swindon, and scored his maiden career goal in another 3-1 win, over Torquay, in November 2013.
The 2013/14 campaign saw him feature more regularly, mainly as a substitute, with Adelakun appearing 29 times in all competitions as the Iron secured promotion from League Two.
