FA CUP ROUND-UP: Tom Eaves scores a hat-trick as Hull leave it late to overcome Rotherham in round three

League One Rotherham United had their hearts broken by Championship Hull City in the FA Cup third round, despite fighting valiantly after going down to 10 men.

Tom Eaves gave Hull the lead on sixteen minutes, but Michael Smith levelled for the Millers just four minutes later before Adam Thompson was dismissed for a bad foul on Keane Lewis-Potter.

Rotherham rallied and Kyle Vassell added a second with a stunning long-range strike on the cusp of half-time, but they were unable to hold on and Eaves nodded in his second midway through the second half before completing his hat-trick in stoppage time.
