Docherty Discusses Goalscoring Form

The main positive from Hull City’s Papa John’s Trophy exit against Lincoln City was the performance of midfielder Greg Docherty.

Described as “immense” by Head Coach Grant McCann, the 24-year-old produced a typically dynamic display and scored a delightful individual goal.

Collecting Josh Magennis’ lay-off, the Scot drove between two Lincoln defenders and evaded a further three challenges before drilling left footed into the bottom corner from 15 yards.

“I just saw a gap and went for it,” admitted Docherty.

“With my defensive head on, I thought if someone was running at me on a night like that it would be hard to stop.
