Hull City captain Curtis Davies has urged the club hierarchy to appoint Mike Phelan as manager on a permanent basis.
Due to their poor pre-season preparations, Steve Bruce resigned from his role in charge due to boardroom uncertainty and transfer market inactivity, which lead to the Tigers starting the season with only 13 fit senior players.
But despite their off-field issues, Phelan, who was named as caretaker manager following Bruce’s departure, led them to a shock 2-1 victory over champions Leicester in their Premier League opener.
'He has been brilliant with the lads,' Davies told Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast.
