An in-depth look at the career of the Tigers’ latest signing, Andy Cannon…
Hailing from Greater Manchester, Andy Cannon’s route into the professional game came at Rochdale where he progressed from the youth ranks into the senior set-up.
His first team debut came as a substitute in a 3-2 win at Leyton Orient in September 2014 aged 18, with a first league start coming a couple of months later. His first season in the senior ranks brought a total of 19 appearances as Rochdale finished eighth in League One.
Cannon went on to establish himself as a first team regular at Spotland, scoring his first senior goal on the opening weekend of the 2016/17 season and playing a part in their memorable FA Cup run during the following campaign which was ended at the fifth round stage by Tottenham Hotspur, although a replay was needed.
