Josh Magennis says it was important that Hull City took at least a point from a ‘frantic’ encounter with Sunderland on Tuesday night.
A brace from Magennis saw the Tigers twice come from behind to draw 2-2 with their promotion rivals at the KCOM Stadium and, although a win was the aim, the Northern Ireland international felt the draw was still a good result as an eleven-point gap between the two sides was maintained.
“It was a frantic game and it probably had everything barring a red card,” said Magennis.
“At this stage of the season we’re coming up against teams that are fighting for so much, whether it’s survival or like Sunderland going for promotion.
