The Houston Texans scored a minor off-the-field victory on Tuesday after acquiring running back Andre Ellington off of waivers after he was cut by the Arizona Cardinals.
Losing rookie running back D’Onta Foreman this past Sunday to a season-ending injury was a tough pill for the Texans to swallow.
Now I know Foreman wasn’t a starter and didn’t have a huge role, but he played a big part in keeping Lamar Miller fresh while also bringing a burst to the outside that Miller lacks.
Ellington is probably an upgrade over Foreman, given the fact that he’s a veteran and can catch the ball out of the backfield while also giving the Texans a change of pace back that they can pair with Miller.
