The Houston Texans are in need of a roster overhaul, and their new head coach has a few ideas in mind.
DeMeco Ryans, a star linebacker with the Texans during their early days as a franchise, was introduced as the team's sixth head coach on Thursday during a press conference at NRG Stadium. While speaking with the media, Ryans provided a glimpse into what Houston's roster might look like with him at the helm.
Ryans noted that he and Texans general manager Nick Caserio will collaborate to "build it the right way with the right people," before referencing something that had been a staple of his defenses with the San Francisco 49ers, who led the league in scoring defense in 2022.
