When the Texans hired David Culley to be their head coach eight months ago, the reaction was mixed. Culley wasn’t nearly as inspiring a choice as, say, Eric Bieniemy might have been. Culley had never been a head coach at any level prior to getting the gig in Houston, and he hadn’t been a coordinator since a brief stint at UTEP back in 1990.
After three games, the Texans are 1-2 under Culley. For those of us with with low expectations, the Texans looked positively amazing in the season-opening win over the Jaguars and perhaps somehow even better than that the following week in the first half against the Browns in Cleveland.
