The Watt family has a special place to Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst.
“(That name), it’s meant everything to our program,” Chryst said Wednesday before the annual Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards dinner at the Hilton Americas. “The only regret is there aren’t more brothers.”
Chryst was an assistant coach at Wisconsin when J.J. Watt, the Texans’ three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and head coach when younger Watt brothers Derek and T.J. played for the Badgers.
Derek is currently a fullback with the Los Angeles Chargers and T.J., a first-round pick at outside linebacker, is in his rookie season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
