UH star DL Ed Oliver runs 4.71 to 4.75 at Pro Day

University of Houston consensus All-American defensive lineman Ed Oliver ran the 40-yard dash in 4.71 to 4.75 seconds unofficially on Thursday at his campus Pro Day workout.

The Outland Trophy winner is a projected high first-round draft pick.

The workout was attended by Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott, Texans coach Bill O'Brien and general manager Brian Gaine, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel.

Oliver bench pressed 225 pounds 32 times and had a 36-inch vertical leap at the NFL scouting combine. He was down to 281 pounds Thursday and was 287 at the combine.
