University of Houston offensive tackle Alex Cooper has been invited to the Texans' local prospect day Saturday, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
The Bellaire native and Second Baptist graduate ran the 40-yard dash in 5.23 seconds at the Cougars' Pro Day workout.
The 6-4, 305-pounder bench pressed 225 pounds 23 times and had an 8-8 broad jump and a 28-inch vertical leap.
He was a second-team all-conference selection.
A team captain, Cooper started every game at three different positions: left tackle, right tackle and right guard and graded out at 81 percent as he played 1,046 snaps on offense and allowed just one sack.
