Growing up in Hawaii, Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn was an all-state football and soccer player.
One of his primary rivals was future Tennessee Titans and Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
At Punahou High School, it was left to Fairbairn to try to contain Mariota on the soccer field. He shadowed him for an entire game. Starring for St. Louis High School, Mariota was also an all-state soccer and football player. Mariota won two of the three football games against Punahou.
The Texans host the Titans on Sunday at NRG Stadium.
"We grew up from 10 years old and he was always a rival of mine, from football days" Fairbairn said.
