The Texans worked out wide receiver Josh Huff on Tuesday, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
A Nimitz graduate, Huff is a former Philadelphia Eagles third-round draft pick from Oregon.
He has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In 2014, Huff had a 107-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.
Released by the Buccaneers before the start of the regular season, Huff has caught 51 career passes for 523 yards and four touchdowns and 1,182 total return yardage.
At Oregon, Huff had 144 career receptions for 2,366 yards and 24 touchdowns.
