The Texans auditioned multiple players Tuesday.
That included veteran cornerback Shareece Wright, offensive tackles Chris Clark, Austin Howard, Cornelius Lucas and Rees Odhiambo.
They also worked out kicker Kai Forbath and punter Brad Nortman.
Forbath has made 116 of 135 career field goals. He was last with the Minnesota Vikings. He has also kicked for the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, Washington and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Nortman is a former Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers punter. He has a career 45.2 average.
Wright, 31, has previously played for the Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.
