ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are placing WR Jaelen Strong on waivers Monday.
Strong was suspended for the first game of the 2017 season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
Strong, 23, was taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $3.281 million rookie contract that included $820,338 guaranteed.
Strong stands to make base salaries of $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the contract.
In 2016, Strong appeared in eight games for the Texans and recorded 14 receptions for 131 yards receiving.
