The Houston Texans continue to make moves this offseason, the latest featuring some savvy bookkeeping allowing the team greater financial flexibility.
As first reported by ESPN's Field Yates, Texans offensive tackle Tytus Howard has agreed to a contract restructuring that will turn $12.75 million of his base salary into a signing bonus, opening up $10.3 million in cap space for the team in 2024. The 27-year-old former first-round pick out of Alabama State agreed to a three-year, $56 million contract extension last July before suffering an injury-plagued 2023 season.
Howard's tweaked deal is the second such shuffling of money managed by the Texans this month.
