Texans inside linebacker Tyrell Adams popped the football out of Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber's grasp with the fumble ricocheting directly to safety Justin Reid.
It was the first forced fumble of Adams' career in his first NFL start as he filled in for concussed Pro Bowl inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney.
"It was good, man," said Adams, who had five tackles, including four solos. "I just embraced the opportunity. I appreciate the trust from the guys around me and just showed up. It's a testament to how I'm coached and the guys I'm around."
Adams worked in tandem with inside linebacker Peter Kalambayi to call defensive signals, relaying defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel's calls to the defense.
