According to McClain's report, the talks between the Dolphins and Texans have been ongoing, but it recently has intensified into serious negotiations.
The Dolphins are off to a 1-5 start and may be desperate after receiving lackluster quarterback play from Tua Tagovailoa and backup Jacoby Brissett. However, the Dolphins don't own their first-round pick next year, trading it to the Eagles. They do own the rights to the first-round pick of the 49ers, who currently are 2-3. The Dolphins also have picks in the second and third rounds of this year's draft as well as two fourth-rounders.
