The Texans are signing former Los Angeles Chargers starting safety Jahleel Addae, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
Addae went undrafted out of Central Michigan and played six seasons for the Chargers before being released this offseason.
Addae, 29, started every game for Los Angeles last season, recording 75 tackles, one interception and one sack.
He had 96 tackles two seasons ago for the Chargers along with a half-sack.
For his career, Addae has recorded 372 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
The Texans' starting safeties are Tashaun Gipson and Justin Reed.
