The Texans are expected to sign veteran cornerback Johnthan Banks, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
The Texans worked out Banks on Tuesday along with defensive backs B.W. Webb, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Corey White and Josh Thornton.
The Texans have a need at cornerback because Kevin Johnson suffered a Grade 2 sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee and is sidelined for four to six weeks, according to sources.
Banks is a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-round draft pick from Mississippi State.
He was an All-American selection who won the Jim Thorpe Award in college.
