The Texans switched punters Tuesday, cutting incumbent Trevor Daniel and re-signing Bryan Anger as his replacement.
Daniel made the Texans as an undrafted rookie last season out of Tennessee and edged out Anger during a preseason competition to keep the job.
However, Daniel was underwhelming through two games and was released Tuesday as Anger was signed to a one-year contract.

Daniel is averaging 43.5 yards per punt, but only placed two inside opponents' 20-yard line. He averaged 43.7 yards last season after beating out seven-time Pro Bowl punter Shane Lechler.
