Texans’ struggling offensive line enters playoffs on down note

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The blitzer came free, untouched and unencumbered as Tennessee Titans linebacker Sean Spence unloaded on unsuspecting Texans quarterback Tom Savage.

Minutes into the Texans' regular-season finale, the big hit delivered by Spence on a sack jarred the football loose as defensive end DaQuan Jones recovered it for a touchdown and an early lead in the Titans' 24-17 defeat. Right offensive tackle Chris Clark was occupied blocking another defender as Spence sprinted into the Texans' backfield outside of him with no one sliding over to pick him up.

It was another ugly display of pass protection breakdowns from the Texans' blockers as they surrendered four sacks and six quarterback hits.
